Your First Analysis
Your First Analysis
Section titled “Your First Analysis”This guide provides a complete, step-by-step walkthrough of the core Bourd workflow: configuring a brand, creating a prompt, executing an analysis, and interpreting the results.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before you begin, ensure you have completed the initial account and workspace setup.
Step 1: Configure Your Brand and Competitors
Section titled “Step 1: Configure Your Brand and Competitors”The first step is to define the entities you want to track. All analysis is performed in the context of a primary brand and its competitors.
-
Navigate to Settings > Brands in the main navigation.
-
Click Create Brand and enter your brand’s name and website URL. This will be your Primary Brand.
-
After creating your primary brand, click Add Competitor. Add at least one direct competitor.
For a detailed guide on this process, see Setting Up Brands and Competitors.
Step 2: Create a Prompt
Section titled “Step 2: Create a Prompt”A prompt is the question you will ask the AI models. Effective prompts simulate real customer queries.
-
Navigate to the Prompts page from the main navigation.
-
Click Create Prompt.
-
Enter a question relevant to your industry. For example:
- “What are the best project management tools for remote teams?”
- “Compare CRM platforms for B2B sales.”
-
Click Save Prompt.
For detailed guidance, see Creating and Managing Prompts.
Step 3: Run the Analysis
Section titled “Step 3: Run the Analysis”With a brand and prompt configured, you can now execute an analysis.
- From the Prompts page, click on the prompt you just created to go to its detail page.
- Click the Run Analysis button in the top-right corner.
- In the modal, select the AI models you wish to query. For a first run, selecting at least two models (e.g.,
GPT-5,Grok-4andllama-4) is recommended for comparative analysis. - Click Run.
The analysis will now execute. You can monitor its status on the Results page, where it will transition from
Pending to In Progress to Completed.
For a detailed guide, see Running an Analysis.
Step 4: Review the Results
Section titled “Step 4: Review the Results”Once the run is Completed, you can analyze the intelligence gathered.
- Navigate to the Results page and click on the completed run.
- From the run summary, click on a response to open the detailed analysis view.
- Review the key sections:
- Response Content: The full, raw text from the AI model.
- Brand Mentions: A structured list of your brand and any competitors mentioned in the response. Pay close attention to the Rank (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd), as this indicates your competitive position.
- Citations: A list of any URLs the AI model cited as sources for its information. This is critical for understanding what content influences AI perception.
