Automatic Citation Categorization

Citations are now automatically categorized by content type. See at a glance whether you're being cited in reviews, comparisons, documentation, news articles, and more.

Bourd now automatically analyzes and categorizes every citation source. When AI models cite your brand, you’ll instantly know whether it’s from a review site, a comparison article, documentation, or other content types.

What’s New

  • Automatic content extraction: Citation URLs are fetched and analyzed in the background, extracting text content and structural information.
  • Smart categorization: Each citation is classified into one of 11 content types: Comparison, Documentation, Feature Article, Forum, How-To, Landing Page, Listicle, News, Q&A, Review, or Other.
  • Filter by content type: Use the new content type filter on the Citations page to focus on specific source types.
  • Key messaging extraction: The system identifies key themes and messaging from each citation source.

Why This Matters

Not all citations are equal. Understanding where AI models find information about your brand helps you:

  • Prioritize outreach: Focus on high-value content types like reviews and comparisons that influence purchasing decisions.
  • Identify gaps: Discover content types where your brand is underrepresented.
  • Track content strategy: See how different content formats contribute to your AI visibility over time.
  • Understand context: Know whether mentions come from technical documentation, news coverage, or user discussions.
